Dundee's first European outing in 27 years was ended by a defeat at the hands of FK Sartid in their Intertoto Cup first round second leg encounter.
Scottish side Dundee were level at 0-0 from the first leg at home but were convincingly beaten in Yugoslavia.
The 75th minute dismissal of Fabian Caballero proved the main downfall for the visitors in a game which saw them take the lead after five minutes.
Argentine striker Juan Sara set up Caballero before two penalties from Sartid's Vladimir Mudrinic put the home side in front.
Extra man
Defender Srdjen Aleksic then headed in at the far post to extend Sartid's advantage.
Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti's side struggled to find a way through the Sartid defence after the break.
But they did pull a goal back on the hour when Sara headed past Sartid goalkeeper Nenad Lukic to make the score 3-2.
Any chances of Dundee equalising were dealt a blow when Caballero was sent-off with 15 minutes left.
Sartid took advantage of having an extra man with Demir Ramovic and Ivan Krizmanic adding two late goals.
