Mikel Arteta and Nuno Valente return after injury. Iain Turner comes in for keeper Richard Wright, who has a knee injury. Chelsea include Frenchman Lassana Diarra, Glen Johnson and Maniche in the starting XI, with regulars Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, Claude Makelele, Didier Drogba and Hernan Crespo left out altogether.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez makes five changes from the team that defeated Aston Villa last weekend, with a rare start for goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, while Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp brings in Sean Davis for the injured Pedro Mendes from the side that won at Wigan.

Despite the food poisoning scare, Tottenham make only two changes. Stephen Kelly replaces Paul Stalteri and Edgar Davids comes in for Danny Murphy, while Robbie Keane and Michael Carrick are passed fit to start. Teddy Sheringham and Bobby Zamora start up front for West Ham, who field a strong team despite next week's FA Cup final.
