Lincoln City 0-1 Port Vale
Lincoln's eight-match unbeaten league run came crashing to an end as Port Vale hung on to win at Sincil Bank.
The visitors' five-man midfield kept a tight control on the game right from the start with Lincoln given little time to build spells of possession.
The winner came in the 25th minute when David Howland smashed a long-range shot past the helpless goalkeeper Rob Burch.
Vale keeper Joe Anyon made fine saves from Lee Beevers and Aaron Brown late on to deny the hosts a point.
