Phil Edwards scored his first goal of the season to virtually guarantee
Accrington's League Two safety.
Stanley forced the early pace with Paul Mullin their main threat in a first
half which lacked goalmouth action.
But defender Edwards headed home two minutes after the interval whe he got on the end of an Ian Craney corner.
Shane Huke then had a shot cleared off the line, while Benson headed over, before Accrington's Leam Richardson was sent off for a second bookable offence.
