Barnet keeper Lee Harrison's second-half error gifted Notts County a point at Underhill.
Jason Puncheon's spectacular strike from the edge of the box put the home side ahead.
Adam Tann almost levelled for County but his instinctive effort went straight at Harrison.
But the visitors earned a point four minutes into the second-half when Butcher's seemingly harmless cross drifted through Harrison's hands.
