QPR 1-2 Leicester

A Matt Fryatt double gave Leicester a victory at QPR that saw them move level on points at the top of the table.

Fryatt's winner came courtesy of a howler from home keeper Radek Cerny, whose weak clearance was comfortably dispatched by the in-form striker.

QPR had earlier gone in front when Adel Taarabt fired in after a neat one-two with Jay Simpson.

Rangers then failed to deal with Dany N'Guessan's cross and Fryatt's simple header ended his six-game goal drought.

A season's best crowd of 17,082 witnessed the game, including England boss Fabio Capello alongside fellow Italian Flavio Briatore in the directors' box.

The home fans will have been upset at the way they they surrendered their unbeaten record at Loftus Road and any hopes of going third in the table.

Having thrown away the lead, Cerny attempted a short clearance midway through the second half that Fryatt read and he ran on to drill past the veteran Czech keeper for his 10th goal of the season.

Rangers could have grabbed a point but Chris Weale bravely denied Wayne Routledge to protect the lead and then Akos Buzsaky missed a gilt-edged chance by blasting over from 10 yards with five minutes remaining.

QPR manager Jim Magilton:

"Leicester didn't have to work hard for both goals, although the lad took them very well.

"We were second-best all over the field and got our just rewards.

"As much as we didn't get carried away by our recent fine form, I'm not going to go over the top about one loss."

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson:

"We are where we are near the top of the table on merit.

"We can be satisfied with how the season has gone so far - and we are only a third of the way through.

"I can see how Rangers have put together a run of good results, so it's a good win for us."
