QPR 1-1 Coventry

Dexter Blackstock

Dexter Blackstock grabbed a late equaliser as QPR denied 10-man Coventry victory at Loftus Road.

Blackstock headed home from close range with three minutes to go just as Coventry looked set for a fine win.

Daniel Fox scored a superb free-kick as Coventry went ahead after the break despite having Stephen Wright sent off for a lunge on Heidar Helguson.

But Blackstock kept his composure late on following a mix-up in the home defence and nodded the ball in.

QPR manager Paulo Sousa:

"We changed our shape and played without training very much because the weather gave us few opportunities. When this happens it is better to keep playing the way we were before, so I take responsibility for this.

"We looked for a winger and when Wayne Routledge came, we wanted to be more open and play with more width.

"When you change things it doesn't just click but the positive thing is that we are building and it's coming."

Coventry manager Chris Coleman, whose striker Leon Best suffered a suspected broken cheekbone:

"It's another injury and things seem to be going against us. Thankfully the transfer window is open and I do want to bring in one or two loans.

"There is money available, but we're choosy. We signed players in the summer and, like a lot of clubs, we'll look mainly at loan signings.

"Wright wasn't happy with the sending-off but Helguson doesn't go down easily and if the challenge was high, I'm not going to bother appealing."
