Play-off chasing QPR were held to a goalless draw by Coca-Cola Championship strugglers Watford at Loftus Road.
Watford's Tamas Priskin headed wide after 20 minutes before on-loan Bolton striker Heidar Helguson did the same for the hosts.
In the second half Patrick Agyemang and Dexter Blackstock went close for QPR.
But the visitors' Lee Williamson came closest to breaking the deadlock with a free-kick which cannoned off Radek Cerny's post nine minutes from time.
QPR manager Paulo Sousa:
"I'm a little bit disappointed with the first half. We conceded about 25 or 30 minutes to Watford.
"At half-time we made some adjustments and the team then began to control the game and make some chances. Sometimes a team needs that killer instinct.
"I made a lot of changes because we had two games in two days and I have faith in my squad."
Watford boss Brendan Rodgers: "I was really pleased. I thought we were terrific - especially in the first half.
"We came to a difficult place to play and I felt we were very good. The second half was a bit more even but a point was still the least we deserved.
"It was very important that we kept a clean sheet. Our defensive side has not not been so good."
