Blackpool 2-2 Wolves

Leaders Wolves moved seven points clear at the top of the table after drawing with Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

It could have been nine points had not Rob Edwards bundled in on 84 minutes.

The goal atoned for Edwards hauling down Chris Iwelumo in the box after just four minutes, with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake converting the resulting penalty.

The home side were soon level thanks to Gary Taylor-Fletcher's effort, but Matt Jarvis's strike put Wolves 2-1 up on 70 minutes before Edwards' late equaliser.

Blackpool caretaker boss Tony Parkes:
"We were excellent. We were the best team in the first half and showed a lot of spirit.

"We put Wolves on the back foot and surprised them with our energy and our willingness to close them down quickly.

"They came into it in the second half but they are top of the league and you would expect them to do that.

"It's up to the chairman and the board to decide what's going to happen with me and (Parkes' assistant) Steve Thompson, but at the moment we're putting them in a little bit of a corner.

"The more points we pick up and the more the performances are good, the more chance that we might get the job."

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy:
"We can't win them all. It's just not going to happen.

"It's a tough old league and that's been proven again tonight.

"The target for promotion is 92 points, but all we can do is make sure we get our own tally of points."
