Reading 4-0 Swansea

Kevin Doyle scored a brace for the Royals

Dominant Reading grabbed three goals in 20 first half minutes to ensure victory over Swansea at the Madejski Stadium.

Noel Hunt opened the scoring on 19 minutes heading home at the near post from a corner, before Kevin Doyle doubled the lead seven minutes later.

Five minutes before the break, Stephen Hunt finished sweetly as the visitors' defence was opened up again.

Swansea had the better of the second half and Jordi Gomez hit the bar, but Doyle made it 4-0 late on.

Reading manager Steve Coppell:
"Stephen was fantastic, he has no respect for his opponents.

"He showed that in the Premier League last season and he has continued in the same way.

"It just doesn't matter who he is up against. He plays flat out in an old fashioned way, and the fans love that.

"This was a good win for us and obviously we are very pleased with the home form at the moment.

"We must continue in the same way, though."

Swansea manager Roberto Martinez:
"The frustration is that we couldn't get something out of the game.

"You can't just concede the goals that we conceded today and that's a huge disappointment.

"Today the concentration levels were very, very poor and we got punished for that."
