Kent football preview & fixtures

Andy Ford

Five Kent clubs will be trying to follow Ebbsfleet's example this weekend aiming for the FA Trophy final.

Dartford, who reached the final in 1974, visit St Albans of Blue Square South in the third qualifying round.

Manager Tony Burman told BBC Radio Kent: "We are going to go to St Albans and enjoy ourselves. We're going to have a good day out and who knows what might happen."

Cray, Ramsgate, Bromley and Welling also play in the competition.

Welling, the highest placed Kent side involved at this stage, are home to southern league side AFC Totton. The Wings are unbeaten in their last five games.

Ramsgate, who have not won at home all season, host Bognor Regis Town, Bromley are away to Swindon Supermarine, who disposed of Maidstone United in the last round, and Cray Wanderers host Brackley Town.

Ryman Premier Division leaders Dover Athletic will hope to begin a new winning run when they visit Wealdstone.

They lost to Sutton in midweek to end an 11-game winning stretch. Tonbridge could go second if they beat lowly Harrow Borough.

Folkestone Invicta are hoping for their first win in six when they host Merstham in Ryman South.

Ashford are seeking their first victory in 11 outings at home to Whyteleaf and Whitstable Town host Worthing.

Beckenham play Faversham in the second leg of the Kent league cup first round as Faversham look to defend a 1-0 lead from the first leg.

The draw for the second round of the competition will take place on BBC Radio Kent on Saturday 22 November at 1430 GMT.

Holmesdale can go eight points clear at the top of the Kent league if they beat Erith Town.
