Kidderminster 1-0 Wrexham

Wrexham boss Dean Saunders' honeymoon period ended at Kidderminster Harriers with a 1-0 defeat at Aggborough.

Saunders suffered his first managerial league loss thanks to Brian Smikle's first-half winner, cracking in a cross from the edge of the area.

Wrexham hit the Harriers post three times in the first half by Wes Baynes, Nathan Woolfe and Jefferson Louis.

Wrexham's Patrick Suffo was denied a debut goal by an Adam Bartlett save before the keeper saved a Baynes shot.

Kidderminster manager Mark Yates told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"Thankfully we've got some defenders who are on their mettle at the moment.

"When Barts [goalkeeper Adam Bartlett] has been needed he's pulled off one fantastic save from Patrick Suffo seconds after he's come on - I don't know how he saved that.

"But he does that day-in day-out in training - he was outstanding when we needed him, but everyone to a man today was top-drawer."

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders:
"I'm flabbergasted how we've lost that game but their goalie has made five or six fantastic saves and we've hit the post three times.

"We could have scored 10 today, I can't believe we haven't scored. But I suppose you can't win every game - and the ball didn't break for us today but that's football."
