Linnets sign new defender on loan

Simon Weaver

King's Lynn manager Keith Webb has signed 22-year-old defender Luke Graham on a one-month loan from Blue Square Premier team Kettering.

Webb signed the 22-year-old after losing Mark Peters and Simon Weaver to injury in the loss to Farsley Celtic.

The former Northampton Town centre-half could make his Lynn debut in the midweek home clash against Tamworth.

Peters and Weaver are set to miss Saturday's FA Cup qualifier against Kidderminster Harriers at The Walks.

The defeat against Farsley was a bad day all round for The Linnets as they suffered their second defeat of the Blue Square North season.

Weaver had already left the pitch with a cut to his head and Peters was receiving treatment when Farsley opened the scoring at the Walks on 24 minutes, they made it 2-0 two minutes later.

"We're not good enough to think we can just turn up, put in half-a-percent less effort and expect to win games"
King's Lynn manager Keith Webb

King's Lynn struggled to get into the game and fell 3-0 down just before the hour mark before Scott Mitchell pulled one back.

Farsley completed the rout by adding a fourth goal in stoppage time, inflicting the Linnets' first home league defeat for 11 months.

And Webb added: "It looked like we just turned up and thought they would roll over, that's not how my team's play and that's not how I set my team's up to play.

"We're not good enough to think we can just turn up, put in half-a-percent less effort and expect to win games."

King's Lynn play Tamworth at the Walks on Tuesday before the clash with Blue Square Premier side Kidderminster on Saturday.

BBC Radio Norfolk will have full commentary of King's Lynn v Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday 25 October on 855 and 873 MW and online at bbc.co.uk/norfolk
