Histon 1-0 Altrincham
Gareth Gwillim's outstanding strike proved the difference as Histon secured their third win of the season.
Both sides came close in the first half and Histon's Mat Mitchell-King's shot was tipped away by Stuart Coburn.
Altrincham did threaten in the second-half but, 17 minutes from time, Gwillim lashed in a ferocious volley into the top corner from 30 yards out.
Histon then held on comfortably and condemned the Reds to their fourth defeat in seven games this season.
