AFC Fylde complete McNiven deal
FA Vase holders AFC Fylde have signed former Morecambe and Oldham Athletic defender Scott McNiven.
The 30-year-old joins the Vodkat League Division One side, formerly Kirkham & Wesham, after leaving Farsley Celtic.
"We are really delighted to have secured the services of Scott," club president David Haythornthwaite told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We were made aware a few weeks ago of his availability and he's certainly our biggest investment so far."
And Haythornthwaite revealed McNiven's locality made it the right time to move for the Leeds-born former Oxford player.
"He's settled in Lytham now and had heard of us.
"Most people on the Fylde knew of our ambition and through a mutual friend a contact was made.
"We're excited because we think he can bring us the experience we need to get up the pyramid that little bit faster and put a few on the gate," the president added.
