Welling United kept their unbeaten record in Blue Square South with a 2-1 away win at Thurrock. All the goals came in the first half. Charlie Sheringham - son of ex-England international Teddy - put Wings ahead in the 25th minute.
Two goals in the space of 60 seconds settled the game with Sonny Cobbs scoring the winner for the Kent side.
The victory took Welling to third in the Blue Square South table, with three wins and a draw.
United were in danger of relegation last season until new manager Andy Ford took over.
Ford told BBC Radio Kent the club's revival is simply down to a change in playing staff: "It's practically a new team, only two of the lads from last season played today.
"We've got young players that have come up from lower levels and they're hungry for success."
In the same division Bromley cruised to a 5-1 home win over previously unbeaten Eastleigh.
There were two goals each for Mark Corneille and Danny Hockton and one for Warren McBean. The Lilywhites moved to eighth in Blue Square South.
There were no wins for the Kent sides in the Ryman Premier League. Dover's 100% record ended with a 1-0 defeat at AFC Hornchurch, Maidstone United lost their unbeaten start with a 2-1 defeat at home to Harlow and Tonbridge Angels lost by the same score at Longmead to Staines Town.
Three Kent sides in the division are still without a win: Ramsgate drew 1-1 at Boreham Wood, Margate went down 4-0 at home to Canvey Island and Dartford have yet to register a point after losing 2-0 at home to Hastings United.
