Maidenhead United manager Johnson Hippolyte believes 19-year-old striker Gavin James can become a top player.
"If things keep going well this is a boy we can move on in a year or two because he has that much ability," Hippolyte told BBC Radio Berkshire.
Hippolyte discovered DJ Campbell while manager of Yeading and thinks James can do the same.
"His movement is good, he's got pace, he's two-footed. All he's lacking is a little bit of strength."
James joined Maidenhead from Wycombe Wanderers over the summer. Hippolyte said he made a mistake in not playing him sooner.
"I spoke to one of the directors after the game and said, 'I've messed up'. We started him in his first game on Saturday and for me he was man of the match.
"You take what you can, with a sell-on clause and other bits and pieces, to give the boy a chance"
Hippolyte said although he would like to keep the best players at his club, seeing them move on from non-league football is important to him.
"I'd like to think that I've got a good record for moving players on and moving players on for not a lot of money.
"Like DJ Campbell for instance - he went to Brentford. He was worth something like £50,000, which Brentford didn't have.
"Rather than stand in the boy's way, you take what you can, with a sell-on clause and other bits and pieces, to give the boy a chance. We've done that a few times.
"Gavin could be the next one...we've big plans for Gavin."
