Manchester United will meet old rivals and holders Bayern Munich in the Champions League second round.
Bayern knocked United out of last season's competition with a 3-1 aggregate win in the quarter-finals.
United's general secretary Ken Merrett said: "Obviously the two managers are friends and we've been there that many times that we seem to play them as often as we play English teams.
"I don't think there's anything that the two sides don't know about each other and they're always great games."
Sir Alex Ferguson's team also face French side Nantes and Portuguese outfit Boavista.
Liverpool have a tough test after being drawn against with Spanish giants Barcelona, Turkey's Galatasaray and Italian champions Roma.
Anfield chief executive Rick Parry said: "We know Barcelona and Roma from last year and we have some very good memories but we don't fear them.
"This is a very tough group but at this stage there is no easy group."
Arsenal's opponents in Group A will be Italy's Juventus, Deportivo La Coruna and German team Bayer Leverkusen.
Gunners vice-chairman David Dein said: "We played Juventus 20 years ago and we beat them then.
"We've never played Bayer Leverkusen, It's a tough group and it's there to be won."
Real Madrid, European champions in 1998 and 2000, will face Porto, Panathinaikos and Sparta Prague in Group C.
