South Africa goalkeeper Hans Vonk has returned to his former Dutch club SC Heerenveen.
The 38-year-old moves from rivals Ajax Amsterdam on an 18-month contract.
Vonk was unable to secure a first-team place Ajax after joining the side in October.
He returns to Heerenveen after playing for the club from 1996 to 2004.
Meanwhile, Niger international Ouwa Moussa Maazou has signed a deal to join Russia's CSKA Moscow at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old striker, who plays for Belgian club Lokeren, sealed a five-year contract worth US$6m on Monday.
Maazou, the leading scorer in the Belgian top flight, wants to use his stay in Russia as a launch pad for playing in western Europe.
"I have signed a five-year contract with CSKA Moscow and I'm confident that after two years a bigger in Europe club will come for me," Maazou said.
"I'll play for Lokeren until the end of the season and my main objective now is to help the club and finish as the top scorer in Belgium.
"This will prepare me for life in Moscow. I think I'm blessed for the way things have moved so rapidly for me and I know it's down to hard work."
Maazou joined Lokeren from local club AS Fan in January last year after topping the scorers chart in his homeland with 20 goals.
He did not make his debut in the Belgian top flight until March 2008 and managed to score just one goal in his first half-season in Europe.
But his explosive form this term has resulted in 11 goals in 13 matches which prompted several clubs across Europe to take notice.
Maazou turned down offers from French club Olympique Lyon and Paris St Germain to sign for CSKA Moscow.
In other transfer news, Morocco defender Elamin Arbate has left French giants Marseille to join United Arab Emirates (UAE) side Al Wahda.
The 27-year-old signed a two-year contract with Al Wahda after spending just six months in the French top-flight.
Arbate joined Marseille on a three-year contract in July last year but could only manage six appearances for the club.
"We never saw the true Erbate, Marseille coach Erik Gerets said.
"He is not a player to sit on the bench so the best thing for him was to move."
Marseille have also released Senegalese defender Leyti Ndiaye to join Ajaccio on loan.
The 23-year-old signed a six-month contract with the Ligue 2 campaigners after failing to down a first team place at Marseille.
Elsewhere in France, Tunisia defender Yassin Mikari has joined Sochaux from Swiss side Grasshoppers.
The 25-year-old left-back signed a three-year deal after passing a medical.
He played international youth football for Switzerland before opting to play for his native Tunisia.
