Christian Bekamenga in Olympic action

Two of Cameroon's Olympic stars have been called up to the national side for their forthcoming World Cup qualifier.

Portsmouth midfielder Franck Songo'o and Nantes striker Christian Bekamenga both featured for Cameroon in Beijing.

They are now in line for their first full international caps.

Songo'o is the son of the former Cameroon keeper Jacques Songo'o, but he played for France before switching nationalities just before the Games.

Cameroon have a crucial qualifying match against Cape Verde in Praia on 6 September, as part of the campaign for the 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations.

The Indomitable Lions are just a point ahead of their island rivals, with two matches of the campaign to go.

Cameroon coach Otto Pfister will be without the Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, who is serving a one match suspension.

Apart from Eto'o, the 21-man squad includes most of the players from the last home qualifier against Tanzania.
