Ouaddou returns to Nancy

Morocco's Abdeslam Ouaddou French club Nancy have signed Morocco defender Abdeslam Ouaddou for a second time.

The 29-year-old, who first played for Nancy between 1999 and 2001, will has moved from their French rivals Valenciennes on a four year deal.

Although the exact transfer fee has not been released the deal is thought to be worth around US$4m.

Ouaddou says he is looking forward to his second spell at Nancy.

"It's not a question of money but one of a sporting challenge," he said.

"Nancy is a respected club with a good image.

"It's become more organised since I left and is expecting to progress even further.

"The aim is to finish in the top ten and also do well in the Uefa Cup, which for me is an important competition."

The Moroccan hit the headlines last year when he climbed into the stands during a game to confront a Metz supporter, who had been racially abusing him.

The fan was given a three-month suspended prison sentence and banned from matches for three years and was fined US$4,185 by the court after being found guilty of 'public injuries due to race.'
