African goals in Europe: 12-13 Apr

Samuel Eto'o

Spain

Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o scored both goals for Barcelona in their 2-2 draw with Recreativo Huelva.

But the result was a big blow for Barca who now trail leaders Real Madrid by nine points with just six games left.

Malian striker Frederic Kanoute scored one as Sevilla beat Real Mallorca 3-2 to continue their push for a Champions League place.

And Cameroon's Achille Webo was on the score-sheet for Mallorca. And Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche's goal secured a 1-1 draw for Valladolid against Atletico Madrid.

The DR Congo striker Mohamed Tchite scored the winning goal for Racing Santander who stunned Valencia 2-1 away. Tchite found the back of the net with nine minutes remaining.

Germany

Anthar Yahia was on target for Bochum who drew 1-1 with Hertha Berlin. The Tunisian equalised just before half-time.

France

Cameroon midfielder Stephane Mbia denied leaders Lyon all three points with a last-minute equaliser for Rennes.

Benin striker Stephane Sessegnon was on target for Le Mans in their 3-0 win over Auxerre while Algerian midfielder Rafik Saifi scored as Lorient edged out Lens 1-0.

And two strikes by the Ivory Coast forward Bakari Kone helped Nice overcome struggling Paris Saint-Germain in Paris 3-2.

Holland

Moroccan Nourdin Boukhari was on target for Sparta Rotterdam who outclassed Heerenveen 4-2.

Another Moroccan, Said Boutahar, scored the last goal in Willem II's 3-1 triumph over Feyenoord.

Belgium

The African performance of the weekend came from Nigerian Joseph Apala who scored a hat-trick for Charleroi as they defeated Racing Genk 3-1.

Elsewhere, Malian striker Mahamadou Dissa put Roulers ahead in the 30th minute but just a minute later, Mons-Bergen equalised and the points were shared.

Senegal's Mbaye Leye sealed victory for Zulte-Waregem with a goal three minutes after the interval to help his side beat Mouscron 2-nil.

His Nigerian compatriot Emmanuel Odita opened the scoring for Westerlo as they beat St Truiden 2-nil.

Greece

Mohamed Kallon of Sierra Leone was on target for the first time for AEK Athens, scoring the last goal in the 4-nil win over Paok Saloniki.

England

Arsenal was rewarded for dominating the first half against Manchester United when Emmanuel Adebayor exploited a defensive lapse to bundle the ball over the line in the 48th minute.

But a twice-taken penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo and a stunning free-kick from Owen Hargreaves destroyed Arsenal's faint hopes of the winning the Premier League title.
