Champions League

The Champions League is Africa's premier continental club competition organised annually by the Confederation of African Football (Caf).
Between January and November it pitches up to 64 clubs, including winners and some runners up of Caf affiliated leagues, against each other.
The event operates as a knockout from the first round, culminating in a two-legged final with a US$1m prize for the winner.

Egypt's Al Ahly are the current holders, having won the event for a record sixth time in November.
The winners of competition automatically qualify for the Fifa Club World Cup.
