Adebayor future with Togo unclear

The Arsenal striker has fallen out with coach Stephen Keshi and it is unclear whether he will stay on with the squad.

Keshi slammed his striker's behaviour, claiming he would not treat Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in the same way.

"He wouldn't do it with Wenger, maybe it is because I'm a black coach. If I was white, maybe he would have more respect for me," said Keshi.

Adebayor vowed to quit the tournament after being left out of the team for their opening game on Saturday.

But his decision to train with the rest of Keshi's squad appears to suggest he may be willing to stay.

Togo were beaten 2-0 by DR Congo in their Group B tie, with Adebayor making a belated appearance as a substitute.

Adebayor, 21, was named in Togo's original starting line-up, but when his name was removed from the list it was claimed he had a stomach upset.

After the match, Keshi had to be physically restrained from confronting the player on the team bus.

Adebayor joined Arsenal from Monaco after he fell out with the French club.
