Tranmere 1-0 Morecambe
A Ryan Shotton effort saw Tranmere beat Morecambe to reach the Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern semi-final.
Craig Stanley hit the bar in the fifth minute for the visitors and was just wide with another strike, but Barry Roche needed to make several saves.
In the 45th minute, however, Roche was unable to keep out Shotton's header from a Charlie Barnett free-kick.
Morecambe created little after the break and Gareth Edds could have made it two, only for Roche to save smartly.
