Darlington 1-0 Bury
A goal in the early stages of the second half was enough for Darlington to beat Bury in a dour quarter-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Darlington's Franz Burgmeier went close early on with a low drive, while Bury's Ryan Cresswell had a header from a free-kick disallowed for a push.
Alan White hit the winner after Bury failed to clear a Tim Ryan free-kick.
Bury's Andy Bishop lobbed home keeper Prezyslaw Kazimierczak but his effort hit the bar and Darlington held on.
Darlington: Kazimierczak, Austin, White, Foster, Ryan, Poole (Griffin 58), Hulbert, Ravenhill, Burgmeier (Kennedy 68), Foran, Proudlock (Blundell 58).
Subs Not Used: Oakes, Miller.
