Grant Holt scored five in the 7-0 rout of Wycombe as Shrewsbury cruised into the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern section quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Holt powered in a header and scored from close range before crossing for Kevin McIntyre to make it 3-0.
A Shane Cansdell-Sherriff chip extended the lead before Holt grabbed his first-ever hat-trick with another header.
He crashed home a volley and then drilled in a shot to take his tally to five and complete Wycombe's misery.
It was free-scoring Shrewsbury's second seven-goal win in five games following last month's 7-0 League Two routing of Gillingham.
But Paul Simpson's men have otherwise rather struggled for goals, having hit as many in these two big wins as the 14 they have hit in this season's other 10 league and cup games.
