Stockport 1-0 Port Vale
A goal from Leon McSweeney's was enough to help Stockport to victory over League Two Port Vale in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie.
Their goal came when Carl Baker played a crossfield ball to Irishman McSweeney, who smashed his shot in from 15 yards.
Vale should have levelled when Kyle Perry planted a free header wide from just eight yards.
Stockport's Michael Rose cleared Luke Prosser's effort off the line.
