Ivybridge Town go third in SWPL
Ivybridge Town went third in the South West Peninsula League after beating Liskeard Athletic 3-1 on Saturday.
Joe Truelove scored two of Ivybridge's goals to see them move above Torpoint Athletic.
Plymouth parkway go up to fifth after thrashing Holsworthy 6-1 at Upcott Field.
Parkway got five of their goals in the final half hour having been held at 1-1 for a long period. Ross Saint, John Heveran and Chris Wright all got two.
- SWPL FIXTURES 29-30 AUGUST
- Cullompton Rangers 2-3 Newton Abbot
- Holsworthy 1-6 Plymouth Parkway
- Liskeard Athletic 1-3 Ivybridge Town
- Saltash United 3-2 Witheridge
- St Blazey 1-2 Clyst Rovers
Holsworthy are still bottom and have conceded 20 goals in their first four matches, but Steve Smeeth's strike was their first goal of the season.
Cullompton Rangers put last season's poor show behind them as they continued their great start to the 2008-09 season on Friday night as they beat newly-promoted Newton Abbot 3-2 to go sixth in the table.
Last season's runners-up Saltash United won 3-2 at Witheridge while Clyst Rovers came back from their long trip to Cornwall with a 2-1 over St Blazey.
Neither of the top two, Dartmouth or Buckland Athletic, had a game and they continue to occupy the top spots.
