Premiership
Manchester United are crowned champions with plenty to spare and will be joined in next season's Champions' League by Arsenal and Liverpool.
Liverpool clinch their place with a 4-0 win at Charlton on the final day of the season to add to the celebrations of three cup triumphs.
Leeds' European adventure continues, though next season they will have to make do with a place in the Uefa Cup after finishing fourth in the Premiership.
Ipswich join them after a stunning season which lifted them to fifth place after many had tipped them for relegation. The achievement secures George Burley the manager of the year award.
The final Uefa Cup place goes to Chelsea, with Aston Villa winning a place in the Intertoto Cup.
At the other end of the table, Coventry leave the top flight after 33 uninterrupted years in the spotlight.
Bradford and Manchester City also fall into Division One, with City's relegation costing manager Joe Royle his job.
Division One
Jean Tigana's Fulham win the title at a canter and only narrowly miss out on chalking up a record points haul as they take their foot off the gas late on.
Behind them, Blackburn regain their place in the Premiership with a 1-0 win over Preston at Deepdale in the penultimate game of the season.
Third-placed Bolton grabbed the third promotion spot by beating fourth-placed Preston 3-0 in the Play-Off final in Cardiff.
Tranmere and QPR are relegated along with Huddersfield, who slip up on the final day of the season as Crystal Palace and Portsmouth both win to overhaul them.
Division Two
Millwall go up as champions and are joined in Division One next season by Rotherham.
Walsall come from behind to beat Reading in the Play-Off final and snatch the final promotion place.
Division Three
Brighton and Cardiff are promoted, along with Chesterfield, who will play in Division Two next season despite being docked nine points for financial irregularities.
Blackpool pip Rochdale to the last play-off spot and then go on to win a thrilling final, beating Leyton Orient 4-2 at Cardiff to seal promotion.
At the other end of the table, Barnet are back in the Conference after they lose at home to Torquay.
Nationwide Conference
Rushden are crowned champions thanks to their 2-1 win at Chester.
Yeovil, who needed to beat Scarborough 17-0 to stand any chance of winning promotion to the Football League, lose at Huish Park.
Kettering fill the final relegation spot after Kingtonian and Hednesford are already relegated.
Scottish Premier League
Celtic race away to win the championship by 15 points from Glasgow rivals Rangers, the first leg of a glorious treble for Martin O'Neill's side.
Rangers seal the second Champions League spot while Hibernian will play in the Uefa Cup after finishing third.
At the bottom, St Mirren are relegated after losing out to Dundee United in the fight for survival.
Scottish Division One
Livingston are crowned champions but Alloa are relegated after only one season in the First Division.
They will join Morton in the Second Division, although the Cappielow club could yet go out of existence if a buyer is not found soon.
Scottish Division Two
Partick Thistle claim the Second Division title and will be joined in Division One by Arbroath.
At the bottom, Stirling Albion are joined in Division Three by Queen's Park, who are edged out by Forfar.
Scottish Division Three
Hamilton go up as champions and will be joined in Division Two by Cowdenbeath, who pip Brechin City to the second promotion spot.
