England women focus on Twenty20

Fifth women's ODI, Chesterfield:
England v South Africa - abandoned (rain)

Charlotte Edwards

England women saw their final match against South Africa abandoned without a ball bowled, though they still won the one-day series by a 4-0 margin.

England remain in Chesterfield for the first of three Twenty20 internationals.

Captain Charlotte Edwards said Twenty20 was a format of the game that the whole England team would be relishing.

"We're determined to get a series win, which would put us in good stead ahead of the ICC Women's World Twenty20 in England next year," said Edwards.

"Twenty20 cricket has really taken off in recent weeks which definitely adds to the excitement surrounding these games.

"It's a format of the game that we all really enjoy, especially with the charged atmosphere at grounds and the excitement that it produces.

"We made a great start against South Africa in the one-dayers and we'll be keen to continue that form into these three games and then the series against India.

"It will be a tough challenge, but one that we are more than prepared for."

Seamer Isa Guha is looking forward to the five 50-over-a-side matches against India, from 30 August.

She said: "Playing India is always a challenge and one I relish.

"It will be fantastic preparation for us ahead of the World Cup in Australia in March next year."
