Yousuf visa setback for Pakistan

Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf

Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf will miss a four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Canada because of a delay in receiving a required visa.

Canada will host the competition, which will take place from 10-13 October and also features Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

"We have not yet received his passport from the Canadian High Commission," said Pakistan Cricket Board chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi.

"Since the team has to leave on Wednesday, we can't wait."

He added: "Yousuf would have made it to the final 15-member squad had we got his passport back."

Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar will return to the Pakistan side after the PCB dropped its opposition to him not paying an outstanding fine.

Pakistan: Shoaib Malik (captain), Salman Butt, Khalid Latif, Shoaib Khan, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanvir, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Anwar Ali, Abdul Rauf, Sohail Khan.
