Batsmen Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan have won call-ups to India's squad for the one-day tri-series in Bangladesh and the Asia Cup in Pakistan.

Pathan, brother of bowler Irfan, has not played a 50-over international but has appeared in the Twenty20 side.

Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha is also an uncapped squad member.

Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan are injured, Harbhajan Singh is banned and Munaf Patel, Manoj Tiwari and Dinesh Karthik have been omitted.

Harbhajan was suspended for five limited overs internationals for slapping Sree Santh during a Twenty20 game in the Indian Premier League when the international team-mates were on opposing sides.

Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly were never in serious contention to figure in a team led by wicketkeeper Mahendra Dhoni.

What do you think of India's squad?

Dhoni led India to Twenty20 success in the format's inaugural World Cup in South Africa last year, with the Pathan brothers in his squad.

Yusuf has made more of a reputation for himself now with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, while Raina has also impressed for Chennai Super Kings to earn a return to the international fold.

India hosts Bangladesh and Pakistan will play in a tri-series scheduled for 8-14 June.

The Asia Cup will run between 24 June and 6 July in Pakistan and involves India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.

India squad: Mahendra Dhoni (captain), Yuvraj Singh (vice-captain), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, Shantakumaran Sreesanth, Rudra Pratap Singh, Ishant Sharma and Pragyan Ojha.
