England off-spinner Graeme Swann was delighted after taking two wickets in his first over in Test cricket.
The tourists made 316 on the second day of the opening Test in Chennai and India were left struggling on 155-6.
After being hit for four and then trapping Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid leg before, Swann told BBC Radio 5 Live his opening over was "bizarre".
"I'm just delighted to be here and I was determined to enjoy it," the Notts bowler said.
Swann is only the second man to strike twice within his first six deliveries - matching the efforts of England's Richard Johnson in 2003.
After being asked to bowl by captain Kevin Pietersen before the tea interval, Swann added: "I was standing there at the end and thinking 'You've worked so hard for this, don't make an idiot of yourself.'
"I've never got nervous before bowling but my knees were going. My first ball felt really light and as soon as I let it go it had gone for four. It was terrible.
"My third ball I couldn't believe my luck. As soon as it hit (Gambhir's) leg I knew it was out. Daryl Harper took an agonisingly long time to raise his finger and I started jumping round like an idiot. Then everyone was bear-hugging me."
The bowling efforts in searing heat left England in an excellent position at the close of play with India trailing by 161 runs and the prospect of a deteriorating pitch.
James Anderson struck first for England with the scalp of Virender Sehwag and then Swann's double strike reduced the hosts to 37-3 at tea.
"I'm just glad they've been given out!" Swann added. "I've enjoyed the two days. I didn't enjoy being hit (he was struck on the glove by Harbhajan Singh), but I'd exchange that for two wickets in the first over on my first Test."

"It's not been easy to accrue runs. We did well to get 300. We knew if we got it in the right place we would get results," he added.
"The way we bowled, especially at the end with Freddie (Flintoff) and his reverse swing, we proved it's not easy to score runs freely. The odd ball does a little bit.
"Hopefully we can capitalise on that tomorrow. If we can take these four wickets - which we will desperately try to do in the morning - and then we get 250-300, we will be in a really good position."
