Tremlett added to England squad
Hampshire seamer Chris Tremlett has been added to the England squad as a replacement for Matthew Hoggard ahead of the second Test against New Zealand.
Hoggard is out of the three-match series with a broken thumb, so Tremlett joins the XI which drew at Lord's.
Tremlett suffered a back spasm against Surrey last week, but has recovered to win a recall ahead of Steve Harmison.
"Chris is a player whose form we have been closely monitoring for some time," said national selector Geoff Miller.
"I am sure that he will be keen to stake his claim for a regular place."
Tremlett, 26, will link up with the squad after playing for Hampshire in their Friends Provident Trophy match against Worcestershire at The Rose Bowl on Tuesday.

And Miller added: "He performed well in last summer's Test series against India and was unfortunate to have to return home early from the tour of New Zealand through injury.
"I know he will be very pleased to be back in the squad."
Tremlett is likely to have to dislodge either James Anderson or Stuart Broad if he is to add to his three Test caps at Old Trafford, with the consistent Ryan Sidebottom an automatic start for England.
Ironically, Hoggard broke his thumb fending off a Harmison bouncer playing for Yorkshire against Durham at the weekend.
