Jones set to miss rest of season

Simon Jones

Simon Jones is unlikely to play again this season after a scan on his injured knee revealed cartilage damage.

The 29-year-old Worcestershire bowler will undergo surgery but is expected to be in recovery for three to four weeks.

Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: "The plan was to have Simon still playing in September.

"While this hasn't been achieved the plan is to get him back fitter and stronger for the cricket that lies ahead of him."
