Schofield sidelined for six weeks
Surrey's England leg-spinner Chris Schofield faces six weeks on the sidelines after having surgery on his broken left thumb.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury while fielding to his own bowling during Thursday's Friends Provident Trophy win over Sussex at Hove.
He will miss Surrey's opening Twenty20 Cup game against Essex on 11 June.
Schofield was the leading wicket-taker in that competition in 2007, claiming 17 opponents at an average of 8.82.
