Surrey claim groundsman accolade
Surrey's Bill Gordon has been awarded the Groundsman of the Year title for his pitches at The Oval in 2006.
Gordon won the four-day and one-day prizes, with Mick Hunt at Lord's second in the four-day and Andy Fogarty of Yorkshire runner-up in the one-day.
"Umpires marks have indicated a good overall standard of pitches in four-day cricket and particularly in one-day cricket in 2006," an ECB official said.
"Bill Gordon continues to lead the way in pitch preparation in both formats."
