Benning ton puts Surrey in charge

First-class friendly, The Oval, day two (close): Surrey 375-4 v Durham UCCE An assured century from James Benning ensured a commanding lead of 418 for Surrey against Durham UCCE at The Oval.

Resuming on 39, Benning went on to score 122, featuring 21 fours and two sixes as Surrey declared on 533-5.

Former England spinner Ian Salisbury weighed in with an unbeaten 47 from 43 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Pakistan paceman Mohammad Akram skittled out three quick Durham wickets before James Morris struck an unbeaten 64 in a stand of 99 with Nicholas Lamb.
