Bendon on song for Burton Latimer

Cricket

Dan Bendon hit the season's highest score to date in the Hevey Northamptonshire League Premier Division on Saturday.

The 20-year-old hammered a superb 146 - including five sixes and 18 fours - in Burton Latimer's winning draw against Rushden Town at Short Stocks.

But Finedon Dolben and Northampton Saints both won again to stay first and second in the table respectively.

Old Northamptonians beat the Northants Academy to climb to third place.

Martyn Cory's unbeaten 101 guided ONs to their victory target of 231 with four wickets and nine balls to spare.

Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie finished on the losing side for the third successive week as Brixworth went down to Wollaston by five wickets, while Stony Stratford were winners over Rushton by the same margin.
