Northants keen to hold onto Sales
Northamptonshire chief executive Mark Tagg says the county are keen to keep David Sales at Wantage Road.
The batsman's contract runs out at the end of the season and Warwickshire have approached Northants about speaking to the former captain.
But Tagg told BBC Radio Northampton he is hopeful that Sales will sign a new contract with the Steelbacks.
"We are obviously keen to keep David, being one of the mainstays of our side, for the rest of his career," he said.
"David's in the last year of his current contract with Northampton.
"Therefore any county can write to us formally to request permission to speak to him or any other player in the last year of their contract and which they have done," Tagg added.
