Boon thrilled with first victory

Tim Boon

Leicestershire head coach Tim Boon was full of praise for his side after seeing them crush fellow Division Two strugglers Middlesex within three days.

The win at Grace Road was Leicestershire's first of the season and lifted Boon's side off the bottom of the County Championship table.

Boon told BBC Radio Leicester: "It was a brilliant effort. To win in two-and-a-half days is outstanding.

"We're very pleased - the club needed it and the players needed it."

Boon added: "It's been generating for a quite a while and the dressing room is in a good place."

Leicestershire are next in action on Sunday when they have an away fixture against Northants in the Pro40.
