Key focuses on an England recall

Rob Key of Kent

Kent captain Rob Key has not given up on playing for England again, according to his county coach Simon Willis.

Key was overlooked by selectors for the Test squad, but he has been picked to lead the England performance squad for this winter's tour of India.

Willis wants Key to focus on his personal ambitions rather than worrying about his duties with the club now the domestic season has finished.

"I know he's desperately keen to play for England," said Willis.

He added: "That's still a massive target for him.

"Going off to India with the academy is something he is definitely going to focus on.

"I've said to him he has to concentrate on himself for the next six months.

"We have an established squad at Kent and he can leave it to me and Graham Ford to sort things out here at Canterbury."
