Kent hope to keep hold of McLaren
Kent chairman George Kennedy says he hopes all-rounder Ryan McLaren will still be at the club next season.
McLaren has two years left on his contract but Cricket South Africa are reported to be interested in getting him to play for his native country.
If he did, the player would have to give up his Kolpak status.
"I sincerely hope that Ryan will stick with his contract. He's been a great servant to the club and whatever he does we wish him well," said Kennedy.
McLaren is registered as a non-overseas player under the terms of the Kolpak ruling.
"It may be a very good chance to blood some of the younger players"

Kennedy added: "Rob Key, Graham Ford and Graham Johnson will be scouring the world to see what's available. But I do have confidence in the squad we've got right now."
He also suggested the club may turn to some of its youngsters in an effort to return to the top tier of the County Championship.
"Coming up through the ranks there are people like Sam Northeast. I expect we'll see a lot more of him next season," said Kennedy.
"Two or three others are also very close indeed.
"With the Pro40 changing its format next year, it may be a very good chance to blood some of the younger players.
"The only way you'll find out how good a player is is when you get them out in the middle and give them a chance."
