Ireland bounce back to beat Kenya

Ireland recovered from a heavy opening defeat by Zimbabwe to beat Kenya by 86 runs in their second match of the Tri-Nation Tournament in Nairobi.

Kevin O'Brien top-scored for Ireland with 83 off 52 balls, a knock that featured five sixes and seven fours, before he was run out.

Opener William Porterfield hit 41 and an unbeaten 36 from Alex Cusack helped them to 285-6 from 47 overs.

Cusack then claimed 3-29 as six bowlers took wickets to dismiss Kenya for 199.

Jimmy Kamande led the way for the hosts before he became one of Cusack's victims, edging to wicketkeeper Niall O'Brien for 42.

Kenya take on Zimbabwe in the third match of the tournament on Sunday before Ireland face Zimbabwe again on Tuesday.
