Company to run sport in Ireland
A new company which will administer the game in Ireland has been created after the formal dissolution of the Irish Cricket Union at its AGM on Sunday.
A new streamlined board of 11 members will be in charge of the 'Irish Cricket Union Limited'.
"It will be a sign of the increasing professionalism that is needed in modern sport," said David Williams, the chairman of the board.
"I'm confident the future of Irish cricket is in very capable hands."
Seven members of the board were nominated by the various provincial unions while four independent directors complete its composition.
A final trading name for the company has yet to be decided.
