Fletcher still coming, say Hants
Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove has said Duncan Fletcher's coaching role with South Africa will not affect his consultancy job at the Rose Bowl.
Fletcher will help the Proteas prepare for series against Australia and England, and the Champions Trophy.
Bransgrove told BBC Radio Solent: "It makes no difference, we were aware of his discussions.
"He will take up his duties here next March for a few weeks, and then report to the board at the end of the summer."
The county confirmed in early October that they had held talks with the former England coach over a consultancy and advisory role.
606: DEBATE
What do you think Fletcher will bring to Hampshire?
Fletcher will begin his stint with South Africa in the two-Test series against Bangladesh which begins on Wednesday.
The Proteas then tour Australia in December and January, playing three Tests, a Twenty20 and five one-day internationals.
The Champions Trophy, originally scheduled for September 2008, will now take place in September 2009, with England then touring South Africa in the autumn of 2009.
