Batsman Adnan leaves Derbyshire

Hassan Adnan Derbyshire have elected not to renew batsman Hassan Adnan's contract and the 33-year-old will seek a new challenge elsewhere for the 2008 season.

Adnan made his debut in 2003 and the following season he scored 1,380 first-class runs at an average of 51.

In 2007, however, he averaged only 21 in his 11 first-class appearances.

"It's never nice informing players they have to go, especially when it is such a loyal servant and great team man," Derbyshire chief John Morris said.
