Foxes chase falls short at Oval

PRO40 Division Two, The Oval:
Surrey 204-5 (40 ovs) bt Leicestershire 171 (36.5 ovs) by 33 runs

Chris Murtagh hit 74 and Jade Dernbach captured four wickets as Surrey beat Leicestershire by 33 runs at The Oval.

Murtagh kept the scoreboard ticking steadily until falling in the 36th over, and skipper Jon Batty added 40 from 30 balls for a total of 204-5.

Jacques du Toit departed in the second over of the Foxes reply, though Greg Smith gave hope with five fours in 58.

Claude Henderson was caught by Dernbach trying to hit down the ground and Dernbach soon wrapped up the innings.
