Redfern impresses for Derbyshire

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP Division Two, Derby, day three (close):
Derbyshire 225-5 v Glamorgan 348

Match scorecard

Teenage left-hander Dan Redfern hit a career-best unbeaten 69 to help Derby past the follow-on but after three days they are 123 behind Glamorgan at 225-5.

A total of 55 overs were lost to rain, the afternoon session entirely wiped out, and with forecasts dreadful for Friday, the game is likely to be drawn.

Redfern, 18, recorded his second Championship fifty from 82 balls with a flashing cut, his seventh boundary.

He and West Indian Wavell Hinds, who hit seven fours and a six, put on 79.
